GCT- TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM GUIDELINE

NOTE: THE PROGRAM IS THE CONTINUATION FROM INTENSIVE PROFESSIONAL THAI MASSAGE (I5) PROGRAM.

Thai massage has been one of the ancient healing arts of traditional Thai medicine for centuries. This great art was transmitted from teacher to student orally and by practice from the ancient era. In several decades, Thai massage gains more interest from the general public and then from foreigners. The Thai education and public health sectors share the concern on safety and image of Thai massage, thus impose the requirement on massage and service providers to be licensed in order to provide massage services to the public.

The need of qualified Thai massage teachers is the important resource to support the goal of proper training for the providers. To become a teacher one must be able to perform the task perfectly. Thus GCT program is the double benefit for the learners who seek to learn the skill, perfect it and able to share with the world either by offering the service or by teaching the art.

Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai (TMC) and Thai Massage School Thailand are proud to present the first ever in the world The Government Certified Thai Massage Professional and Teacher Training International Curriculum (GCT). GCT: The most comprehensive Thai Massage international curriculum is now available at TMC Thailand.

GCT program two ultimate goals are:

• To prepare students to become professional therapists who are able to perform safe, beautiful and effective genuine Thai massage for the public
  
  
• To prepare GCT 300 Hour Program students to become Thai massage teacher who are able to teach the ancient Foundation of Thai Massage (Level 1); Thai Foot Massage; Thai Table Massage. For GCT 600 Hour Program: to be able to teach higher levels from TMC curriculum: Thai Massage Enhancement (Level 2); Therapeutic Thai Massage (Level 3); Thai Chair Massage; and Yogi Stretching Exercise 16 positions.

GCT program designs for both students with no experience in massage or with previous experience in Thai massage or other type of massage. However, GCT program is for sincere learners who seek the ancient knowledge. The program is intensive. Maximum compliance to the curriculum is required in order to achieve the program objective and to graduate.
