300 and 600 In-Class Hour Curriculum


THEORY AND GENERAL BACKGROUND OF THAI MASSAGE
History and background of Thai massage. Sen Sib: theory of Sen Sib, energy blockage and symptoms relate to Sen Sib in Thai massage, theory in depth and application of Thai massage; general knowledge importance to Thai massage; professional and teacher ethics in Thai massage; teaching techniques in Thai massage; teaching career preparation and teaching support with TMC Affiliation Program.

Herbal ball application in Thai massage; learn Thai herbal ball properties and their use in Thai massage, cautions, selection of herbs, how to make herbal ball, how to apply herbal ball. Field trip to Botanical garden to experience the nature of Thai herbs and their use in traditional Thai medicine.

Ancient anatomy in relation to Thai massage from the old text in brief. Review on Anatomy and pathology for safe practice in Thai massage. Attending Cadaver lab at Chiang Mai Medical University lab lecture by two university professors. (Lab is subject to availability)

NOTE:
To fully complete education of anatomy and physiology requires more classroom hours. Due to the limitation of time to achieve in GCT program痴 objective, the applicants are urged to undertaking anatomy and physiology course from other sources, such as community college, prior to attend the GCT program. However, this is not mandatory. Thai massage learning in GCT program requires basic understanding in anatomy and the cautionary sites in Thai massage. The school provides classroom overview of Anatomy and pathology in relation to Thai massage adequate for safe practice in Thai Massage to ensure effective result. Student will obtain experience from the real human body at the Cadaver lab and be able to explore more understanding in human anatomy under guidance of the university professors. Student will have anatomy hand book on loan for self study for basis knowledge and more information at the school痴 library for further learning.


TECHNICAL AND APPLICATION OF PERFORMING AND TEACHING THAI MASSAGE
Foundations of Thai massage in depth; Thai massage enhancement; Therapeutic Thai massage and herbal ball application in Thai massage. GCT students study these three courses with other short program students but more in depth.

Thai massage for elderly persons, High Risk Thai massage stretching and sacred Thai massage techniques and understanding the risk of Thai massage for high level body stretching, including how to examine a client痴 physical condition, how to evaluate and plan for appropriate application of Thai massage techniques. Students practice massage techniques under closed supervision with teachers・guidance necessary to perform the beautiful and effective art of traditional Thai Massage.

GCT interns train to teach Thai massage and perform actual teaching five days Foundation of Thai Massage (Level I) and 2 days Thai Foot Reflexology under supervision of TMC teachers to community students at no charge to community. Community students come from different backgrounds. They are in need of career change or seek additional income to support their families with Thai massage knowledge. GCT interns have trained Thai massage to almost 300 community students with impressive results.

TMC has joined with the government in providing vocational education of Thai Massage to teenagers at Chiang Mai Juvenile Detention and Training Facility in Mae Rim district. There are about 300 children at the facility. GCT intern teachers have taught Thai massage to over 200 students at the facility with amazing result. Thai massage training by GCT interns and the chance to interact with the interns have improved the children lives and provided life learning experience to our GCT intern teachers as well. Many students earn early release from their attentive completion of Thai massage training with the plan to make use of Thai massage when they return to their community.

GCT interns will learn to perform Thai Foot Reflexology for profession application to improve health and for relaxation. GCT interns will receive training to teach and to perform actual teaching two days of Thai Foot Reflexology to community students at no charge to community. Over two hundred community students were taught by GCT intern teachers. Several of them have been applying there learning to real life by giving Thai Foot Reflexology to the public and earn income from their work. You may meet some of them at Sunday Street Walk Fair.

GCT interns may perform teaching training at the detention facility or to the outside community depending on arrangement by the school.

CLINICAL INTERNSHIP FOR GCT 300 HOUR IN-CLASS PROGRAM
Thai massage and Thai Foot Reflexology practice in-house facility. Occasionally provide massage services in the community for charity, and to senior person. Teach Thai Massage and Thai Foot Reflexology to community groups.

CLINICAL INTERNSHIP FOR GCT 600 HOUR IN-CLASS PROGRAM
GCT 600 hour intern will gain more professional practice and teaching training at higher levels in Thai Massage Enhancement Level II and Therapeutic Thai Massage Level III. Teaching training may include teach community classes depends on availability.

Note: GCT 600 hour program, after graduated from 300 hour program will have entrance interview by the school committee to continue with 600 hour program. Should the students do not meet criteria to continue with the program, the students will be entitled to receive refund according to the school refund policy. The entrance interview will ensure the students to achieve their goal, be able to comply with the school policy, and to uphold high standard of the program.


Others activities
Prayer to the Teachers and Meditation: to calm the mind and gather peace before learning. Yogi Exercise: Background, breathing and different yogi positions to facilitate body flexibility and enhance the flow of life energy. Yoga and Stretching Exercise: to prepare the body for stretching positions. Hands and Knees Exercise: to strengthen them for effective use and preserving health.

All classes run from Mon ・Fri from 9.00 ・6.00 except cadaver lab may be on weekend.


GCT Program fee:

300 hour in-class (Phase I) curriculum: 10 weeks 89,000 Baht
600 hour in-class (Phase II) curriculum: 10 weeks 89,000 Baht


NOTE:
Study requirement:
  • GCT study in 2 phases. GCT 300 hours is Phase I; GCT 600 is Phase II
  • Interest learners of GCT programs must apply and receive acceptance from the school prior to eligibility to enroll to the program.
  • Applicant will receive, via email, GCT program detail policy, agreement, and inquiry file package. Applicant needs to view the contents carefully and response to the inquiry from the school for the acceptance consideration.
To be a professional and/or teacher of Thai massage is considered a noble profession to honor the knowledge from the ancient Thais. Thus, the school firmly believes and holds true to maintain the noble quality in transferring the knowledge and in producing the quality professional and teachers of this ancient art from our ancestors.


Fee includes the following:
  • Class materials such as manuals, workbooks, charts, tools, anatomy book on loan, more books in the library for further study.
  • Transportation and meal for outside clinical training and field trips.
  • Comfortable clothes during practice at school facility, fresh sheets daily.
  • Complementary service of vegetarian lunch and herbal tea all day, daily transportation in inner city.
Note: Intern is responsible for appropriate clothes during teaching internship to community. The school suggests school polo shirt at discounted price.
